Update: Feb 3, 2021

The OTBA board of Directors has canceled the Ivan Nelson Youth Tournament (SO youth team selection) that was rescheduled for March 27  & 28, 2021 at Classic Bowl.  Do to the cancellation of the CYC’s scheduled to be held in June 2021, we knew that this was our only option.

January 22, 2021

The OTBA Board of Directors has voted to cancel the Doug Imms Memorial Provincial Youth Tournament and the OTBA Adult Tournament, both scheduled for May 2021 at Rev’s Rose Bowl in Windsor.  Please pass this along to all of your members as soon as possible.

This decision was not made lightly.  Because of the rising number of cases in Ontario and the fact that the vaccine will not be available to all Ontarians until at least September, we felt that it was necessary.

Our duty is to make sure that all of our members, families, friends and the community are protected and we must follow all of the Ontario Public Health unit’s guidelines.

This notice will be posted on the OTBA Facebook page today.  Please direct any questions to am@otba.ca.  Everyone must wear a mask, wash their hands, social distance and stay at home during this lockdown so we can defeat this virus soon.

Thank you all for supporting OTBA.

Notice to all bowlers from the OTBA

Greetings to all,

The Ontario TBA Board of Directors has made the decision to cancel the Family Twosome tournament and the Ontario Youth Singles tournament for 2021 and tentatively postpone the Ivan Nelson tournament until March 28 & 29, 2021.  The final decision on the Ivan Nelson will be made in February.

The decision by the Board was not made lightly but is based on the continued upsurge of COVID-19 cases across the entire province and the guidelines set out by the Public Health Units in the province.  At the present time, 4 areas are in lockdown, 7 are in the red zone and more will be upgraded this week.  The vaccine will not be available to all of us until sometime in 2021.

As the governing body for sanctioned tenpin bowling in Ontario, it is our responsibility to put the health and safety of our members, their families and the community first and foremost.

Please pass this along to your sanctioned youth leagues as soon as possible.  We will make a decision regarding the Doug Imms Memorial Youth tournament at a later date

If you have any questions, please contact OTBA at am@otba.ca with them.

Stay safe, stay healthy and most of all, stay home!
